Happy Anniversary!
It was one year ago that  I posted the very first item on this blog:

This blog is the launch of my quest to attend the 2008 Democratic National Convention as a credentialled reporter.

I've approached two different media firms seeking to serve as their free-lance (and credentialled) journalist
at  the convention.  My intention is to report at the Convention specifically from a Republican perspective.  I hope to
offer tounge-in-cheek observations about my encounters with fevered Democrats in Denver.

Well, thanks to Carl Walworth of the Mattoon Journal Gazette, I accomplished that goal.  Since that time, I've thoroughly enjoyed the journey of this adventure.

Thanks to so many of the readers for your positive feedback and your continual suggestions for topics to cover.

With one year under our belts, we continue to press forward.  Here are some of the items we'll be covering in our next year of service:

            1. We'll be offering photos (and maybe video) from Effingham's Tax Protest event on April 15th.
            2. Republican Reporter John Perles and i will  be traveling to China in the next few weeks, where I hope to offer insight
and perspective on the balance of capitalism and communism.
            3. I'll continue to press the case for taxing political campaigns on the same rates as personal income taxes.
My wife's creative ideas provides an easy method for providing campaign reform that everyone can agree to (except
                    for the politicians).

So after 307 blog entries (and 87,000 words) we continue on!

Thank you!
