Strike One!

As many readers are aware, two different news organizations were submitting credential applications to the Democratic National Committee, for me to attend the DNC's National Convention.

Over the weekend, I was informed that one of the two applications were denied by the DNC.  So we are down to the last opportunity.

In light of this most startling development, the Republican Reporter editorial staff met throughout the weekend.  We still remain hopeful that our remaining application might be accepted.  Yet, even if that one is also denied, the Republican Reporter staff is, even now, preparing contingency plans to attend the convention.  However, without credentials, the perspective from Denver might be a bit more "peripheral".

Finally, I wanted to share the comments of the editor who received the DNC notice.  The rejection notice from the DNC stated:

"We regret to inform you that due to an unprecedented level of interest in the event, we are unable to provide you with media credentials..... However, this does not preclude your organization from coming to Denver this summer.  There will be many activities and events taking place outside of the Pepsi Center and across the Denver metro area."

My editor offered the following note, "Bob...well...at least they are correct on one count... “There will be many activities and events taking place outside of the Pepsi Center and across the Denver metro area.” Drugs...Hookers...riots...etc., etc., etc.
