On the day that the impeachment vote of Bill Clinton was taken by Congress, Al Gore appeared before the National Press and stated, "We should not impeach Bill Clinton, because in a recent poll, more than 1/2 of American's are opposed to it."

Well this week's Rassmussen poll shows that 67% of Americans support the idea of drilling on America's coastlines.  Only 18% oppose it.  Let's put those numbers in perspective.  When Ronald Reagan was elected to a second term as President, he won the election with 58% of the popular vote.  It was termed a "landslide". 

The amount of popular support for offshore drilling is unprecedented.  And based on Al Gore's logic, he too must now be a supporter.
