Convention Agenda
In preparation for the DNC convention, I'd been online trying to find the agenda of events for the week. But all to no avail.
Hence, I was anxious to get the Press Credentials and finally find out the order of activities.
With our credentials, we received a bag full of goodies

It included water bottles, hand wash, a large bottle of aspirin (I'm saving those for the speeches), a myriad of pamphlets, pens and lapel pins. But, again, there was no schedule of events.
And then I realized, this is an event still in the making. Speakers are being switched in and out, depending on the course of events. That's not necessarily unusual for a political convention, but it's interesting to watch it unfold.
Only this morning the pastor who was to deliver the opening invocation has backed out. He cited his strong disagreement with Obama's position on abortion for his withdrawal.
Suddenly a news story has been created over the seemingly innocuous decision of delivering an opening prayer. Of course, now attention will be focused on the number two pick to deliver the opening.
This is all seemingly unimportant, but a reflection of life in the middle of the this circus.
