Enforcing the TRUTH.....as they see it!

Okay, this truly has me scared.  Prosecutors are now going on TV to state that they will bring CRIMINAL action against anyone that doesn't speak the TRUTH about Barak Obama.  This isn't some web created idea.  It's being reported, as just a matter of fact, by the local news media in St. Louis.  You can watch the story here.

Please take the time to watch it.  Then watch it a second time and replace the word "Obama" with Hitler, and Prosecutor with "Nazi", and it's impact is incredibly revealing.

I'm serious.  These are elected individuals, using their public position, who are threatening criminal action against anyone who doesn't speak the "truth" about Barak Obama.

I hope you'll take the time to let other's know about this.

What are you talking about? A few people insisting that they are going to speak out whenever they see their candidate being lied about hardly constitutes nazi-ism.
Now if law enforcement officials were to conspire to oust a sitting governor (say a Democrat, in, say, Alabama, just hypothetically) by trumping up a bunch of bogus corruption charges, that would be, well, really despicable. And illegal. And it would be exactly what Republicans have been doing, systematically, throughout the last few election cycles. The hypocrisy is at an all new high.

Speaking out against what we see as untrue isn't fascism. That is noble and necessary. A prosecutor, on the other hand, using his or her elected office to do hit jobs on political opponents; that is an affront to our (yours and mine, Bill) Constitution. I would like to think that the second this was tried it would be nuked by a judge with a minimal amount of jurisprudence. Sadly, depending on which part of the country you're in, I can see something like this being taken way too far. Scary indeed.

      Bill,

It is a form of fascism when you have governmental officials threatening prosecution for speak against a candidate for office. I know that lying about a candidate is wrong, but the problem with this story is that those government officials in St. Louis said they would prosecute for lies against Obama. How many ads has Obama put out with lies in them that are playing in Missouri right now? But they are choosing not to prosecute against the creators of those ads. Both sides of this campaign have lied in ads at some point, but these officials are threatening legal action in support of one candidate. Justice is supposed to be blind, and we don't believe in selective prosecution. However, some people in St. Louis don't hold our affinity for constitutional guarantees.

As far as corruption, which side of the aisle has been nailed in election scandals? Several Democrat lead voter organizations have been cited in the last election. St. Louis rewrites polling hours last presidential election. St. Louis Democrat organizations in trouble for voter fraud. Democratic organizations in trouble in Georgia with their "crack for votes", or "$40 for a vote". Do I think that Republican organizations have kept their nose clean? Not really, but systematically, Democrats are the ones that recently have demonstrated a special disregard for election laws.

    Bill,
You need to watch this again. These are prosecutors threatening legal action against anyone that doesn't "speak the truth". Those are first amendment rights being tossed out the window. And all organized by the Obama Truth Squad - that sounds pretty ominous.
As others have pointed out: What does that mean if we have a President Obama? Will we be prosecuted for not speaking the "truth" about the President?
    Truly Scary!!!

This makes me sick...where is the McCain Truth Squad, and who is on it? Both candidates use ad to distort the truth, plain and simple. It's politics. That's sadly how it works.
