A reader sent me a wonderful piece from the American Thinker on "Why I'm voting Democrat".
Here's an excerpt: "I’m voting Democrat because I want to get my health care from the same competent, efficient, cost-effective, customer-service-focused folks who run the US Post Office, the Pentagon, FEMA and the state Registry of Motor Vehicles."
It's worth the read.
....................................
Here's another story you might have missed:
Just 13 percent of Chicago Public School eighth-graders were proficient in math, putting them on par with students in countries such as Bulgaria, Cyprus, Jordan and Macedonia.
You can find the entire article in the Sun Times.
The significance of this story is that the Chicago Public School System has been run by the Democrats for DECADES. More to the point, Senator Obama made education a "priority" as a State Senator for Chicago. In fact, he headed up the Annenberg Challenge which distributed more than $100 million to Chicago Schools for their improvement.
Well, the report card has now arrived in the mail. Obama and the Democrat's direction of education in Chicago has led to eighth graders having a proficiency in math of a third world country.
"He wants to do for America's Health Care, what he's done for Chicago's Educational System".
The press won't ask it, but I will. "Where are the results from Obama's past that give us "hope" for his future?"

As someone who worked in the education field for several years (and as a parent of children just entering the school system!), I'm irritated that education has not been discussed more leading up to this election. Outside of a small comment at each debate, and a general consensus from the candidates that "things aren't where they should be" there's been not enough dialogue, IMHO.
Especially in light of Obama's roaring "success" in Chicago's public schools.
