Makes me proud to be an American
Need a "pick me up" for today?  If you want to hear five young girls sing an incredible rendition of our National Anthem, check this out.  It brings a tear to the eye.

Under the category of "Move along, there's nothing to see here"..............

Bill Ayers admits that Obama is a "family friend".
Why pull back that rug, when the media has already put away the broom?

A new poll!
Should the government give $50 billion as a bailout to Ford, GM and Chrysler
Yes! We've got to save the jobs (of the UAW, anyway).
Yes, how can we say "NO" so close to Chistmas
No! The UAW has eaten off the car company carcass for too long.
I don't have an opinon, but would like to participate by casting some type of vote.

    Bob,

I'm glad you posted something about the auto industry...seems to be the only thing getting more press than Sarah Palin in recent days. In principal, I don’t believe in the government bailout. However, the auto industry is unique and many people do not understand the underlying problems. It is too trite to simply say that they are performing poorly because of decreased sales. It is also wrong to say that the quality does not compare to the Toyotas and Hondas of the world. There are two problems that the auto companies face right now – brand image and legacy union health care costs. Take Ford for example. In 2007, Ford’s quality, safety and reliability ratings were higher than any other can manufacturer. How do you fix this image? Fire the Chief of Marketing, fire your advertising company and dump money into advertising with a new firm – done, circa Alan Mullaly becoming CEO. Also, it costs on average ~$1,500 more for Ford to build a car than other foreign manufacturers. This is directly attributed to the legacy UAW costs.
So what should be done, if anything? My idea is for the Obama administration to “buy” all of the UAW health care costs for current and retired employees. This is a perfect marriage of the “entitled”. This will provide a test group for Obama to implement his Universal Healthcare plan while increasing cash flow in the auto industry due to decreased costs. In due time, the test bed health care system will flounder just like it is doing in Hawaii, Canada, Germany and other places around the world. Union employees will hopefully reevaluate their values and beliefs to strengthen, rather than destroy, the companies providing them employment and then vote Red in 2012.
