College Campuses
While the media decrys the conservative tilt of talk radio, they do little to discuss the HUGE bias in American Universities. My nephews, who attend midwestern public institutions, relay multiple stories of the left leaning tilt of every professor.
And here's an email I received from a loyal reader, on election day, that reinforces the point:
So my girlfriend calls me after her class. Her professor starts calling down students to his office, one by one, to explain to them why they need to vote for Obama today!! Tell me that is not a violation of the college policy!! BTW, out of 25 students, 3 are not Republican. The professor took a poll the other day of the students is how the results are known. Only 3 raised their hand for Obama. My girlfriend said the professor was visably shocked at this result.
Well, I guess there's education and then there's REeducation!
Recession
I was in suburban Chicago last weekend, and was stunned at the amount of traffic at a variety of retail locations. From the large mall complexes, to the strip malls, to big box retailers - all the parking lots were full. This weekend, I drove to the local Walmart and had trouble finding a parking space.
There's a lot of people who are ignoring the recession talk.

I was at the mall here in STL yesterday, too, and couldn't believe how full the parking lot was.
