Auto Bailout

The auto bailout failed last night in the US Senate.

While the UAW has been pontificating on their "interest" in restructuring the legacy costs for the big three, last night's breakdown of talks was due to the UAW's unwillingness to actually put their "interests" in writing.

They refused to commit to actual wage reductions and other benefit restructuring.

As one commentator put it, "UAW workers earn more than 2 times the average worker in America.  Hence, the UAW wanted the average taxpayer to pay for to support someone earning twice as much."

The Main Stream media might lay this fiasco at the foot of the Republican Leadership in the US Senate.  But the true blame rests with the greed of the UAW.
