I'm always curious as to what blogs and web sites people visit on a daily basis. If you are so inclined, I'd appreciate hearing about those sites that you've found informative on the web. Here's mine:
Drudge Report - A very popular site on the web for late breaking news, I find this to be a "must read" every morning.
Instapundit.com - A Knoxville, TN law professor offers up interesting insight and links from a libertarian perspective. Since he's a libertarian, I find I'm only in agreement with him about 99% of the time.
Boomtownusa - My brother Jack's daily blog offers small town insight and entrepreneurial inspiration that keeps me hopeful about America's future.
Here's the Diehl- A St. Louis area Mom, who with her banker husband, are raising three young boys. The author has a great writing style and perfectly captures life in an environment where the "six and under" crowd outnumber the adults. It always brings a smile.
Of course, I peruse the online newspapers, as well. The MattoonJournal Gazette - the official newspaper of the Republican Reporter (because they secured our press passes for the DNC convention) is always fun to visit. In particular, about 2/3rds of the way down the home page is a section entitled, "Most comments". The paper allows online readers the opportunity to comment on stories in the paper.
In the 1800's, dueling in the streets was a legal activity. The comments section of this paper is the closest thing that I've ever seen to public dueling. One of the happiest days, this year, was when my articles were no longer being commented on in the Mattoon Journal Gazette. Of course, many of the comments are insightful and comical......but not all.

Finally.......I have officially lost touch with the succeeding generation. Each winter, I'm fortunate to be able to ski in Colorado. Prior to heading out west, I like to check out the online ski reports that are posted by fellow skiers. Here's a "first hand" review of the conditions:
"@ the beav on tues. sick snow. park was wack. trees and peeps on the mtn were the dope shite"
I have absolutely no idea what this means. The closest I can tell - the snow is contaminated and there are young chickens defecating in the trees. I hope I'm wrong!

This came from my next generation. Hope it helps.

Thank you for the interpretation!
Does anyone make something similar to the Spanish to English books that would allow "peeps" like me to interpret future communications in even a "wack" manner.
Through intensive study, I might even become a "dope shite"......then again, probably not.

I love sport because I love life, and sport is one of the basic joys of life.
