Missed by most media outlets
Last week, IL. Republican Congressman Aaron Schock rode with President Obama on Air Force One, as Obama traveled to Peoria, to address CAT workers on the stimulus bill.  Schock is the new representative for Peoria, IL.

During his address, President Obama identified Congressman Schock in the audience, and urged the workers to approach Rep. Schock and ask him to vote in favor of the stimulus bill.

Congressman Schock remained in the auditorium for 30 minutes after the President's address.  Not one worker asked him to vote for the stimulus bill.  However, over the next 24 hours, via letters, emails and phone calls, 1,400 workers from CAT contacted Aaron Schock and urged his to vote "NO"!

Not surprisingly, very few media outlets were interested in reporting on the interesting turn of events.  Imagine, if the tables were reversed and a President Bush had done such a poor job of selling a proposal to an audience.  It would have created a media firestorm.

US Postal Service (thanks to Mike W)
While the Federal Government rails against the inefficiencies and inequities of American Business, they might want to first check out their own management of the US Postal Service.

...........a little-noticed regulatory filing in December, brought Mr. Potter's total compensation and retirement benefits to more than $800,000 in 2008. That is more than double the salary for President Obama.

This included a bonus for Mr. Potter (the Postmaster General), to reward  him for the agency losing nearly $3 billion last year.   If Mr. Potter would have only lied about his taxes, he would have been eligible for a cabinet position as well!

The *eh-hmm* performance bonus alone topped $135,000. Not too shabby…
If the USPS continues at its torrid pace, they'll be in the hole $6B for FY '09. PMG Potter is in line for an extra $270,000 if my math is correct.
