Are you a sucker?
Are your community schools in decent shape? Has your community passed a tax increase to build or refurbish their school in the past year? If your answer is ''yes'', then you, my friend, have been had.
My friend Scott C. pointed out a great frustration with the new spending proposal by the President. Big money is going to rebuild schools in the plan; schools that are ''falling down and not stuitable for educating''.
Scott's town, which is going through some economic pain, just passed a $30 million property tax increase to fund their school districts capital needs.
If they had only been patient and instead spent their time bemoaning their condition and whining to Washington, today Scott's town would be a winner.
Instead they face their own self imposed higher property taxes, in addition to now footing the bill for those districts who were completely irresponsible.
Rewarding the irresponsible by punishing the responsible. Change we can believe in?
