Thuggishness revealed

When Barack Obama set up his Automotive Task Force, to deal with the issues of Chrysler and GM's financial crisis, many were critical of the fact that not one member of the team had any experience in the automotive industry.

Regrettably, little attention was brought to the issue.  Well, now we are paying the price.

The recent closure of large number of dealerships by the Chrysler organization had many people scratching their heads.  In particular, I had a dealer tell me that the second highest volume Jeep dealer in a particular state was being closed.  "It just doesn't make sense" he said to me.

Similar stories were starting to leak out.  And now there's this......Furor grows over partisan car dealer closings

It's becoming increasingly clear that the closings were driven by a desire to punish anyone affiliated with the Republican Party.  In fact, highly successful dealerships were closed including:
        1. A dealership owned by a Republican Congressman from Florida
        2. All five dealerships owned by a large Republican contributor
        3. All the dealerships surrounding a dealership owned by a Democratic supporter.

In the 1940's, several people turned away when Hitler's Third Reich closed a host of businesses because the owners were Jewish. Sadly, many in Germany said, "It's okay, if it doesn't get any worse than this, it's tolerable."

Their failure to speak up, led to their own demise.

I'm not comparing Obama to Hitler.  But the Obama's henchmen are beginning to act like "Jack-Booted Thugs".

Let me get this straight. In order to receive the good graces and benefits of government you have to be of a certain party? What exactly is the difference between Obama's dealership closures and having to be a member of the Communist party in USSR? Or the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia? Or the Ba'ath party in Saddam's Iraq? No mass murder.

Either play ball or lose your right to play. Not very capitalistic I would say. But hey, who didn't think pay-for-play Chicago politics wouldn't follow Obama to the White House?
