Obama placed himself in another dustup when he used his press conference to criticize Cambridge police for the arrest of Obama friend Henry Louis Gates jr.
It now appears Obama's loyalties were once again misplaced. The police report shows police acted appropriately to the suspicious activities of Mr. Gates.
Add Gates name to the growing list of Obama friends (Rezko, Rev. Wright, etc.) who just keep embarrassing him whenever he leaps to defend.
There's increasing evidence that Obama's taste in friends is as well thought out as is his approach to health care......ill conceived and ''stupidly'' loyal.

This whole Obama-defending-Gates story makes me so angry. If you simply read what happened, it sounds like police did what was necessary to insure their safety and to make sure he was who he said he was. This has nothing to do with race, except that Gates didn't want to do what he was told by authorities and then HE made it into a racial issue. And don't even get me started on Obama commenting when he acknowledged that he didn't know all the facts.
I KNOW there are crooked cops out there. I get that people need to look out for themselves. But it seems that the least you can do, if you've called the police to your house b/c of a burglary, is identify yourself when asked without causing problems.

Get your facts right. Gates did not call the police to his home because of a burglary, they were called by a neighbor who was concerned about two men who had suitcases and had to force their way into the home. Gates did proove that it was his home BEFORE the police officer arrested him. How would you have reacted had you just returned from a trip of several thousand miles and were confronted in your own home? My guess is that both guys were asses. Bottom line; charges were dropped immediately at the station.
