Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

The Harvard Professor's recent arrest continues to stir the debate on racism in America.  Yesterday, a good friend raised the topic in a unique manner.  The friend has  a home with a security system.  On more than one occasion, the alarm has sounded and police arrived at his home.  Sometimes my friend was at home, at the time.  Other times, my friend would arrive at his house to find the police in his driveway.

He said, "Every time the police showed up, I was extremely grateful they were there.  After all, they were taking time out of their day to insure my safety.  As a result, I was extremely respectful and courteous to them."

Despite Gates and the liberals efforts to portray the matter as some form of rampant police racism, evidence from witnesses and audio recordings are proving otherwise.   My friend speculated that the entire matter was the creation of Prof. Gates, who thought he might simply "create" the stir to promulgate his ideas of racism in America.

Sometimes when you view yourself as a "Hammer", you see the rest of the world as just a bunch of "nails".
