Flag@whitehouse.gov

In case you've missed it, last week the Obama administration set up an email account for people to "snitch" on their neighbors.  It's flag@whitehouse.gov (in case you want to report the Republican Reporter)

The White House has instructed US Citizens to email information on anyone spreading "misinformation" on Obamacare, in the form of emails, blogs, and even casual conversations.  YIKES!!!

The criticism of this idea has been almost unanimous.  In addition to the Free Speech aspects of what Obama is attempting to suppress, this action calls to mind the work of some of the worst totalitarian regimes in history.

BUT HERE'S THE IRONY -

It was almost one year ago, just prior to the Democratic National Convention, that I sat down with an Obama staff member in Chicago.  Arranged via a mutual friend, the dinner meeting offered a pleasant venue for learning about life inside the Obama campaign.  But, the staff member wasn't able to tell me much.

Why?

Because all members of the Obama campaign (including unpaid volunteers) were required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before coming to work for the campaign!  (read that sentence again).

You see, if you worked for Obama, and you saw something illegal occurring on the campaign - you were prohibited from reporting it.  It didn't matter what it was.......you couldn't talk about it.  You couldn't write about it.  Confidentiality wasn't just requested, it was DEMANDED.  And there were significant consequences if one chose to violate the Non-Disclosure Agreement.

So......we are allowed to talk, just as long as we don't say anything negative against this administration - A group that came to power by muzzling their own volunteers.

Very, very scary.
