It was 68 years ago today that the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.

------------------------------------------------------------

Remember, last fall, when the Massachusetts Democrats, led by the dying Ted Kennedy, attempted to rewrite their state laws concerning the replacement of a US Senator?  Originally, Mass. law allowed the governor to make an appointment in the case of a vacancy.  During the 2004 Presidential Election, confident that their own Senator Kerry would be elected President, Mass. changed their law to require a special election (because they had a sitting Republican Governor).  In 2009, Mass. Dems changed the law back again, in the face of Kennedy's terminal illness and with a Dem. Governor in the Governor's mansion.  It was a blatant and ugly political maneuver.

Well, the NJ Democrats, with an 87 year old Sen. Frank Lautenberger, and a newly elected Republican Governor are attempting to do the very same thing.  Of course the media continues to look the other way.

On this wintry Monday morning, if you're feeling depressed, take a look at this video of Florida Republican Congressional Candidate Lt. Col. Allen West.  The Democrats might be able to change laws, but they can't change momentum.
