The lessons of GM....
Remember when the government helped to structure the bankruptcy of General Motors? One of the key aspects of government involvement was the DEMAND that the leadership team for GM be replaced by new people. Essentially the idea was 'how can we expect the people that got us into this problem to lead us out'.
As I see today's breaking news:
Moody's Lowers Illinois Bond Rating
I can't help but wonder why we think the current crop of Illinois leadership has any credibility in talking to us about solutions.
The lower bond rating for Illinois means that the taxpayers will have to pay even higher rates of interest on the debt already incurred by our politicians. (Keep in mind - every state office holder is a Democrat. They also run the Governor's mansion, the statehouse and state senate.)
As the state Democrats start to propose their various tax increase schemes, they are essentially telling us, "We've controlled this state for more than eight years, and our only failing is we didn't tax Illinois citizens enough."
If firing GM management was imperative to turning GM around, it seems the same medicine would be the appropriate cure for what ails Illinois.

As citizens required to pay for the programs and decisions of our elected leaders, we must monitor and publicize how they are managing OUR city, county, state, and country. Those guilty of mismanagement need to be replaced regardless of their political pary. Our power is in voting. Don't let them continue to destroy our great country!

Maybe if the the state of illinois's credit rating continues to fall it is a good thing. I know when I ran out of money and credit I couldn't spend anymore. The Democrats are like little children or adults that never grew up. The state can't print money like Obama can, I hope? Reality is around the corner. TEA PARTY
