Shhhhhh! Don't tell them they are wrong.

No matter what the outcome of today's Massachusetts election for a new US Senator, Republican Scott Brown has pulled off a major coup to make this race so competitive.  Win or lose, the Democrats are already trying to spin the reason for the closeness of the race.

They are already leveling complaints about their own candidate.  "She was a flawed candidate to begin with"  Some will say.
"She ran a lousy campaign" other have already opined.

What the Democratic talking heads are not saying is that this race was driven by:
     1. The bitter frustration over ever escalating taxes (state and federal)
    2.  The proposed health care plan, crafted in secret, while being forced down our throats.
    3. The clear perception that President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid want to take this country further left than a majority of American's will tolerate.

Interestingly, a recent poll by the Washington Post found that 58% of Americans want a smaller government, even if it ends up doing away with some services.  (Not surprisingly, the WA PO buried this little nugget in paragraph 10 of an article.

Surprisingly, the Democratic leadership appears to be tone deaf to all these items.  Instead, they will spend Tuesday night dissecting (and "dissing") the Coakley campaign and all it's failings.

Let's not argue with them.  Let them continue to mistakenly believe that their ideas are fine, and that their candidates were flawed.
I'd rather just keep winning elections.
